Refinishing and Polishing Travertine

Three photos of the stages of refinishing old Travertine floors. Before, during, (honed), and after (polished).

Old stone floors slowly get abraded by foot traffic. These minute scratches start to collect dirt & debris. The polished finish starts to fade away and the floors look darker than normal.

Deep cleaning is a temporary answer. It cleans the surface, but also cleans the scratches holding the dirt. A short time later the floor can look dirty again.

The solution to having beautiful a floor that lasts is by refinishing with professional diamond discs to remove scratches & etch marks, then polishing with professional products by a trained stone restoration professional. The floor will retain it’s shine as long as its maintained properly.
